Dog Party: Tail-Wagging Celebration for Bella’s 11th Birthday

13/11/2025

The garden room at The Horse was alive with wagging tails, happy barks, and smiling faces this October as our four-legged friends came together to celebrate Bella’s 11th birthday – and what an afternoon it was.

Guests arrived with their dogs in tow, ready for an easy-going afternoon of fun, friendship, and plenty of treats. The space was decked out with balloons and birthday decorations as dogs of all shapes and sizes explored, sniffed, and made new friends.

Around a dozen dogs attended, from energetic puppies at their very first party to wise old companions who knew exactly where to find the best snacks. Owners chatted over drinks, swapping stories and laughs as their dogs mingled with tails wagging and noses twitching.

When it was time to celebrate the birthday girl, everyone gathered for a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday” – followed by the enjoyment of a dog-friendly birthday cake that quickly became the highlight of the day. Some pups waited patiently for their slice, others couldn’t contain their excitement, and the cake inevitably disappeared in record time.

Good Boys, Great Company, and an Afternoon Well Spent

Throughout the afternoon, there were treats for the dogs, drinks for the humans, and even doggy bags to take home – each one packed with toys, biscuits, and goodies for every four-legged guest. Between the laughter and the wagging tails, donations were also collected for Dogs Trust, making the day not only fun but meaningful, too.

It was everything we love about life at The Horse: relaxed, friendly, and full of the kind of energy that brings people together. Families, regulars, and new faces all shared stories, smiles, and a fair bit of barking, reminding us just how special our local community really is.

As the afternoon wound down and the last few dogs said their goodbyes, the garden room still buzzed with happy chatter (and a few muddy pawprints). Here’s to Bella, to good friends, and to many more tail-wagging afternoons to come.
